Special bells commissioned by the Saint Bernard Dogs Club

Following an onsite bell casting commemorating Saint Bernard de Menthon's birth 1.000 years ago, a member of the Saint Bernard Dogs Club contacted the bellfoundry with a special request : could the bellfoundry craft a bell engraved with the head of a Saint Bernard dog and the famous barrel?

Working only from a drawing, we began to craft the bell but soon realized that we needed to modify our process to capture the depth of colour in the dog's coat. By modifying the sheen of the bell during the finishing process, we were able to achieve an excellent result, and we now have a new process that we can use for other special requests.
